The High Kings, the true heirs of Ireland’s Folk Heritage, are the most exciting Irish folk group to come along in years. Comprising Brian Dunphy, Finbarr Clancy, Martin Furey and Darren Holden, they are all Internationally acclaimed singers of Irish folk songs. A quartet of accomplished musical pedigrees, the band first exploded onto the Irish folk music scene in 2008. They have sold out hundreds of shows, in Ireland, the UK, Germany and the US, made numerous TV appearances and achieved multi platinum status. The High Kings showcase their incredible versatility and skills as multi-instrumentalists, playing 13 instruments between the four of them, bringing a rousing acoustic flavour to brand new songs as well as some old favourites. The High Kings have added several shows to their busy 2015 schedule in November to cope with the demand for tickets for their Sold Out UK Tour in March. The band will be performing songs from their recent CD/DVD release ‘Four Friends Live’ which was recorded in The Millennium Forum in Derry in May 2014, and the show will feature many Irish Folk classics including; ‘The Rocky Road to Dublin’ ‘The town I loved so well’ ‘The Parting Glass’
After 15 years at the top of their game, The High Kings are still selling out venues around the world to an ever- growing army of loyal fans. Having already surpassed a million listeners on Spotify as well as 2 platinum albums in their time, The High Kings are celebrating 15 years together by releasing 15 brand new tracks to their fans.
Widely regarded as the standard-bearer for their genre The High Kings continue to surprise and delight and “The High Kings XV TOUR” together with 15 newly reimagined tracks is just the beginning of their electrifying plans for 2023.
In their time together, ‘The High Kings’ have charted across the world and performed for hundreds of thousands of fans, as well as in many prestigious situations including for the Prime Minister of England ( 2011), Barak Obama( 2012) & George W Bush ( 2009 at the White house and at The Pentagon ( 2015)
Notable performances include Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight ( 3 times – headlining in 2015), They appeared in Time Square & also headlined the St Patrick’s Day concert in Trafalgar Square London (2015).
The High Kings continue to set the bar extremely high for Irish folk bands across the world and 2023 will be no different.
