Garron Frith is a musician from Manchester, England who is steadily building up a reputation as a great live performer and an original songwriter. Over the last few years Garron has performed headline shows across the United Kingdom and Mainland Europe and has opened for many acts including Peter Green, Madeleine Peyroux, Jack Bruce & Robert Cray. Garron has released two albums, the debut which features 10 tracks backed by members of Lambchop, Grand Drive and Green on Reds Chuck Prophet, and the new record, the recently released “Away From the Bright Lights”. Both albums were recorded by Simon J Alpin (Teenage Fanclub, Devendra Banhart, Badly Drawn Boy) producer/multi-instrumentalist and one time member of The Willard Grant Conspiracy.
The second album has elements of folk, blues & gospel and it has been likened to 70’s Van Morrison, Stephen Stills, Ry Cooder and John Martyn.The ten original songs written by Frith including one co-write with Simon J Alpin sees Frith playing acoustic guitar, slide, banjo, vocals and harmonica. It features a raft of great backing musicians such as Simon Edwards (Fairground Attraction, Julian Lennon, Kirsty McColl) on bass, Nick Simms (Cornershop) on Drums, Dennis Cronin (Lambchop) trumpet, Seymour Milton on keys and Simon J Alpin on mandolin, electric & lap steel guitars.
